Send postcards to voters

The Orange County Democratic Committee has ordered 1,000 postcards and needs help to get them in the mail on Sept. 16 in time for the first day of early voting on Sept. 23.

If you are willing to help address cards, Elaine Freeland needs to hear from you by Wednesday, Aug. 24. There is no charge for the cards, but you must provide the 44-cent postage. You will be given a list of registered voters and their addresses.

This postcard effort is in conjunction with Rural Ground Game, an organization whose headquarters is the Shenandoah Valley. It is dedicated to the support, training, and development of rural Democratic candidates, campaigns and committees.

Contact Elaine at elaine.freeland@verizon.net.

By the way, in accordance with LOWA regulations, you can put your Abigail sign in your Lake of the Woods yard on Friday, Sept. 9. If you need a yard sign, request it on the Spanberger for Congress website and the sign will be delivered to you.

Club picnic was a success

We had a lot of fun at the 2022 picnic. Good food, lively conversation, and a very interesting speaker, De Anne Davenport of Friends of Wildlife at the Lake (FOWL), a new organization devoted to the wild animals living in our midst.

Club’s annual picnic is June 11

The annual Lake of the Woods Democratic Club picnic starts at 5 p.m., Saturday, June 11, in Marion Pronk Hall at the LOW Community Center.
