Rep. Vindman to visit club

U.S. Rep. Eugene Vindman, who is seeking re-election in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, will be the guest of the Lake of the Woods Democratic Club at a reception on Saturday, July 18.

Vindman will meet with constituents in Marian Pronk Hall at the LOW Community Center from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Vindman, a retired Army officer from Dale City, has represented Lake of the Woods in Congress since he was first elected in November of 2024. He serves on the House Committees on agriculture and armed services.

Born in Soviet Ukraine during the Cold War, Vindman came to America with his father, brothers, and grandmother when he was just four years old. For 25 years, he served as an infantry officer in the 82nd Airborne Division, a military prosecutor, and an advisor at the White House National Security Council. After serving across the county and around the globe, Eugene and his wife Cindy, an Army Reservist, have spent nearly a decade in the Commonwealth raising their two kids Max and Madi in Prince William County.

Vindman’s campaign web site quotes the candidate as saying, “I’m running… to protect our democracy, restore our freedoms and fight for all of our communities to thrive. America must remain a refuge for families like mine, where hard work matters, truth prevails, rights are protected, and we are all free to be who we are and pursue our dreams in this land of opportunity.”

Early voting ahead of the August 4 primary election began June 18. Vindman is unopposed in the Democratic primary. Three Republicans are vying for the opportunity to run against him in the Nov. 3 general election.

Coffee, tea and pastries will be available at the reception. The Vindman campaign will be accepting personal campaign donations.
