Orange Dems call for Trump’s removal

The Orange County Democratic Committee passed a resolution at its January 9 meeting calling for the removal of Donald Trump from the office of president of the United States.

The resolution reads:

Whereas it is the mission of the Orange County Democratic Committee to promote democratic principles;

Whereas Donald Trump, President of the United States, has incited violence against a co-equal branch of government in order to disrupt their constitutionally mandated duty and to overturn the November 2020 election and retain power, has illegally solicited the Georgia Secretary of State to overturn his loss, and has emboldened and encouraged the very worst impulses in our society; and

Whereas Donald Trump continues to falsely claim massive fraud robbed him of the election and will likely continue to incite more violence which makes him a clear and present danger during the last days of his administration; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, that the Orange County Democratic Committee supports Senator Mark Warner, Senator Tim Kaine, and Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger in their demands that Donald Trump be removed from office to protect our country’s democratic principles, whether that be through the application of the 25th amendment or by impeachment.
